I got one on my back too!
I'm not trying to win any grammies.AI music ain't that good.
I am starting with using chords now, but my musical knowledge doesnt reach to know what would sound well or what wouldnt.NP. I'm not sure how much input/musical talent is required to get AI to create a song, but that stuff has no feel to it.
Like can I specify that I want something in F# that transitions in & out of Am and builds up from a slower tempo to a faster pace to end it?
Idk?
I quit worrying about the names of the scales and modalities long ago.. I go by tonality and feel.. I would see players play guitar and they will focus on what scale they're using instead letting memory muscle take over and guide them... Its not quantity... It's quality... Like... When I'm playing... I'm not thinking about what scale I'm using.. I'm thinking about what tonality sounds good in miliseconds of thought..... Through experience I learned not to "think" when I play... Just do it naturally and dynamically... Don't over think it... Let it happen naturally.. That is the pathway to true artistry and command..It's in D I believe, but could easily play into Bm. There are also modalities like Mixolydian, Dorian, Phrygian and others if you choose to get complex shit going on. I used to be up on this stuff but not so much lately.
That's how I played too. I didn't think about the scales in a rigid sense. They were boundary markers more or less because when you get down to it we could just use a 12 tone scale and call it a day!I quit worrying about the names of the scales and modalities long ago.. It's all about body angles.. breathing easy and relaxing...Be as ergonomic as you can be in whatever style you play... Without even realizing it... Your Technique changes over time.. Playing Les Pauls for example broke me out of bad habits I used to have,,, I had so so picking technique... .. Now I pick lighter with more control... I just barely use the tip of the pick...But I always did that because I was/am a huge Michael Schenker fan... So part of my thumb and forefinger is creating overtones.. Pinch notes... Eddie did that too sometimes but he was more of straight on picker but an unorthodox holding style almost like Santana.. I do a lot more hybrid picking these days...That's how I played too. That was a running joke btw. If I hit a sour note I'd say I was using a 12 tone scale in that part MF'er's!![]()
