Tuitt didnt play last year either. Who do they have besides Cam Heyward and Alualu on the dline? Their run defense sucks.

They resigned Minka Fitzpatrick. So they now have the best paid safety and... get this, the best paid fullback of the NFL. Derrick Watt plays like 5 offensive plays a game and makes 3M per year.
They effectively pay 3M for a special teamer.
 
I forget, was Haden a special teamer? At one point at least? CB6 would have to be a special teams contributor, or someone who can rotate to S, or both.

Unlikely.
 
Yeah our DB room is deep as any in the league. If the FO even gave Haden an invite and he were to accept he probably doesn't make the team. If Martin Emerson as a rookie is equally as effective as Haden as an old man, Haden is the one who gets cut. And I think Haden has more pride than to tryout for any team and see if he makes it.

He can probably play for a team with a weak secondary and in need of a veteran voice, but we're past that here.
 
Harbaugh is one of the best HC's in the league, so I wouldn't worry about a new DC much.

I'd worry more about Jackson actually playing 17 games. He runs an awful lot and it's starting to show up in lost games. I'd be telling my whole defense that when Jackson runs the ball you can crush the snot out of him like any other RB so take your shots.
 
ESPN Radio this afternoon, rather enjoyable.

• The Steelers as of now will pick 5th overall.
• The Steelers drafted a first round QB last year.
• The Steelers O-line sucks
• The Steelers buzz is that they don’t feel Kenny Pickett is enough to compete against Lamar, Joe, and Deshaun for the next decade. They would have the lesser QB.
• So, Pickett has to prove to the brass he’s worth it, and if he doesn’t, behind a crappy O-line, they’ll be drafting a QB in the first round for the second year in a row.

Addendum 2: they'll probably give him next year, although that was against Jeff Saturday and the Colts last night

Not getting ahead of ourselves, but the early line for Cinci is 3.5. I read somewhere once, you almost always get a 3-spot for being home, so if true, the Bengals are being favored by 0.5. That ain't much.

I would hate to see CJ Stroud wind up there... I think hes way better than Pickett...
