Browns fan feature series (Part III)

I'm publishing my grad school final project on my new site (BrownsBeat.com).

I tried interviewing some folks here for it, but it never worked out schedule wise.

The first part (interviews w/ Captain Cleveland and Pumpkin Head) is here:

Part I: http://www.brownsbeat.com/new-breed-of-cleveland-browns-superfans-leading-the-way/

Interviewed Dennis Manoloff and Will Burge for Part II, Mary Kay was not available for comment.

Part II: http://www.brownsbeat.com/cleveland-browns-media-want-relevancy-just-as-much-as-fans/

Interviewed a few older Browns fans for Part III... "Just One Before I Die" is my favorite of the series.

And I'll be posting the next 3 on consecutive Mondays until the end of preseason.

Let me know what you think.

Really nice piece of work, Mike. Tell your prof I'd give you an A for the research and quality of writing.

As you live in Florida like me, you probably have a similar view to mine that Browns are, truly, everywhere down here. I'm always amazed at how many of them I run in to at various places. If this team ever becomes a playoff contender, which it could with Gordon in the lineup, we'll see a groundswell of support for the Cleveland Browns.

I think it's cool we have fans on our board from Australia, England and Canada and that active military personnel post here, too.

I moved back to San Diego in the last six months, but there's a pretty big contingent of us out here. The BB bar usually has 100+ and that's just for SD. I think LA and other SoCal spots have their own clubs.

My girlfriend's from Australia, I've converted her already. Doing my best to spread the good word.

You're in SD? We should have you over! We have an 80" and it ONLY shows Browns games. Can't seem to fix it. We just spent the weekend in your neck of the woods (Coronado) for a spa weekend.

Ahh...Coronado. My neck of the woods about every 6 weeks. Spent way too many nights of my life closing McP's on Orange St. Then stumbling down to Night and Day Cafe for some late night face stuffing.

Cool place. The Del just FEELS haunted, man. So gorgeous. But we stayed at the Loew's on the really quiet part of the island. We were looking for different things out of this particular weekend (!).

Loew's is a bit on the old side but I have to say, the spa was amazing, the food was amazing-er, and the service was amazing in every way. Our huge porch was inches from the bay looking back at SD.

Love those getaways.

Mike, I'm in San Diego too, do you go to Elbow Room(near Kearny Mesa) for the games? I'll be there for our first game against the Steelers.

And excellent work on the feature, that was really cool.

I just moved back to the area in December and caught a game at the Elbow Room, can't remember which one.

Went to the new Sonic in Clairemont randomly and its in the Elbow Room parking lot. Looking fwd to stuffing my face with Sonic dogs during halftime.

When I'm not out of town for work I'll probably be there most Sundays. See ya there dude.

Shep- 80 inches is big. Let's party.

I wanna have a Browns party for those of us in Southern California. I know Mike Zuckerman's here. The ad guy I had lunch with... really cool guy but now I'm blanking his name (I have the memory of a cod). You guys in SD (we have places to crash for sure).

That'd be a blast. 80" Quattron. It's niiiiiice.
