Browns But I thought we were the dumpster fire ... a thread

He's an NFL owner it's ok. He has a lot of money.

NFL owners are not held accountable by Goodell the same way players are.

This Is Fine GIF
Well yeah Goodell can't really hold the owners accountable like players. Goodell, like the players, works for the owners.

Then this is where the NFLPA should go to arbitration. Punishment must be equal for everyone involved in the NFL or Goodell can leave and we'll find someone willing to be fair.

^^^BS!!

Throw your drink at a multi billionaire and watch how fast you're thrown in jail and charged with felonious assault. The victim doesn't know if the offender has any contagious diseases like Hep C, Tuberculosis or Herpes. And we know the owners like to bang whores all the time. And that asshole threw the drink into the crowd!!

At the very least, that's a tort to me.

I’ve seen plenty of people tossing beers and drinks at events!

I’m not agreeing with it, what he did was super petty and immature! But I bet that wasn’t the first/only drink tossed in someone’s direction!

Edit: I also think owners should behave like owners, not fans. That said, I’ve done some some stupid shit when my emotions got the best of me!

Has nothing to do with Goodell. Unless the NFL league office and commissioner somehow become independent from the 32 owners they will always be acting in the owners interest.

This is not an arbitration item. It would be something for the labor contract, but I doubt the owners would ever sign up for it, and I doubt players would actually strike just for this item.

^^^All true.

The problem is the owner was recorded committing the act.

What if a player had thrown his cup of Gatorade at a fan? What would Goodell do? You know something's coming his way.
Anyway, I ain't going to spend too much time on it. It's up to those people affected to do something.

The NFLPA is independent of both. They only represent players employed by the NFL. Goodell is the guy running their workplace, the NFL. Not just for the players, but also for the NFL owners. Both sides have agreed to that. It's a workplace issue.

Fairly certain NFLPA has no input in to the organizational structure of the league offices and who is in charge of it.

No matter. Goodell fined the Panther's owner $300,000.00 for the incident. He was forced to. Otherwise, people could sue the NFL and it would be obvious Goodell ignored the incident.
Anyway, it's over.

Ravens mad Lamar can’t advance
Steelers mad about TJ snub
Bengals not even being talked about
Emmitt calling out the Cowboys
Micah supporting Myles

Browns going 4-for-4 this week and most importantly, Myles and Flacco continue to talk about how it was such a good locker room this year. Yes, it’s mild stuff, but nice little positives in mid Feb.

I like the assistant coaching shake up. We can’t just assume running it back with a presumably heathy #4 and #24 will do the trick.

I’m not saying I’m super optimistic, but I don’t miss the total rebuild days either. It’s damn nice to not to be the dumpster fire.

Now, let’s advance next time in the playoffs, rather than just get there.

There’s more good than bad news now a days and truly the only divisive news of the week is where to put a new stadium. In downtown or 9 miles from the edge of the city. Either way, it’s more of the Haslam’s keeping their past promises to keep our Browns in Cleveland.

These are good times.

Agreed. And I will say, I am super optimistic about our roster. We should be competing for a Superbowl next season. Will we be, I have my doubts, but at least things are going in the right direction. Stefanski definitely improved in some ways this season, not enough to prevent his OC from getting fired, but still it was good to see some fire, and some adjustments to the way he called the games.

Good old cheap Bengals. Read once about the Bengals front office, from an agent, that they're a pain to deal with "because what every other front office does with 24 people, they try to do it with 3".

Have to take "Higgin camp" side of the story with a grain of salt. Talking trade after being tagged, saying no discussion have occurred, and no deal by the start of FA is the standard my guy is tagged negotiation through the media play book.
I don't want to defend the Bungles, especially since they haven't exactly been the best run FO, but with these things the truth is usually somewhere in the middle. Such as no talks is actually team told us they won't focus on his long term deal until they take care of FA signings needed now
