Browns D Line needs Richardson and Suh!

It's all about the opposition running it up the middle against us. That's the problem. 4 games in a row the opposing RB ran well against us between the tackles. If the Baltimore RB did not fumble on their last drive the Browns may not have ever got the ball back. Opposition runs against us at will. We should pull Sheldon Richardson and/or Ndamukong Suh out of retirement and shore up our DLine. Long-time Browns fan.

I agree with him pretty much but I think he's a bit over the top at times but he's right for the most part...... I'm just of the Fritz Pollard Alliance dictating everything about this team... Berry is a cancer....
 
DT has been neglected,over looked and ignored for 5 drafts now.
time for a high pick?barmore was there to be had.enough with the high pick CB's.find bargain DB's.
every year they are there to be picked late.
 
We did just draft DE Wright who looks like he can play, but his playing time right now is all OJT. The other guy is Isaiah Thomas who's getting some PT. Clowney is an excellent DE opposite MG, but yeah the DT spot is shit. Taven Bryan is ok. Chase Winovich is ok but can't get healthy and is truly a DE. Perrion Winfrey is still learning and developing. Togiai and Jordan Elliot are clearly a backups.

The good news is we can get a quality DT in the 2nd round...next year.

the bad news? with this D and Its "needs" historically under joe woods you better believe we will draft a DB of some kind.
an under preforming "looks a bargain" falling, injury prone, big school DB.prolly another FS to convert to SS from bama or georgia.
the DE picks you mentioned? underwhelming.bargains come in drafts with depth at that position.DE is never deep.WR,DB yes.
I'd rather move to a 3-4.really change things up.draft or acquire a decent NT.come on its the AFCN.it works here.
IMO the best 2 players in our DB room are newsome and emerson.they both look like exceptions in regards to our DB drafts.

we need to move because "the ship is sinking"

I hate the 3-4... You need almost elite LB'ers to run it properly... I want a balls out Buddy Ryan type mentality on defense...
 
TBH Im not a huge fan of it either but If you look in our division at the success.you cant deny it.the 2 best D's over the last 20 years? 1-steelers,2-ravens.I dont even have to look it up.I know,I was there. true they didnt run 3-4 the whole time.no.
3-4 produces sacks too at an alarming rate.so versatile. dont forget that.when sack leaders are LB? its 3-4

I just want us to try something different.LB are cheaper to draft and in FA than D-linemen.
we just acquired a pro bowl 2nd rd LB for the price of a hotdog.
hey,a great 4-3 coach with dynamic gameplans that can be altered on the fly.sure.I can dig it.
some of the best coaches now run a hybrid of both 3-4 and 4-3 depending on the situation.gimme that guy.
but the woods experiment?has failed.
 
If they go to a 3-4 after the season sure why not?

Get rid of Clowney and the DT's under 290 lbs. Get a serious NT and go from there.

I'd rather stay in the 4-3 and play more 0 coverage to allow the three LB's to get to the ball carrier on run plays.

I love what philly is running,,, They get after the QB and the football.. And you see their secondary "Sticking" to their man... And not leaving TE's wide open on every fucking play like we do...
 
we did some new things on D against the tigers and LOOKIE LOOKIE I found dat cookie baby!
we blitzed,we stunted,we moved.what a great showing.has one of woods assistants stepped up?
like I been saying,just try something new,different,ANYTHING! we couldnt do worse.

It should be a no no brainer to play him inside and not OLB,thats a hangover from him playing outside in college.
is this woods D or does this look like some one else?

Another change on the D was John Johnson was making the calls for the D and players said he did an excellent job getting everyone on the same page.

Takitaki has surprised me playing this well. He seems to be doing well at LB between the tackles. Good for him to stay ready and being patient waiting for his chance and then producing when thrown in there.
