This also depends on if these meetings and/or workouts happened before or after signing Watson. I've seen Burks and Karlaftis both in the top 20 of the draft and Christian Watson an early 2nd round talent.

That list is just a further reminder to not read much in to who teams do visits with. Year in and year out teams meet with players they have no intention of drafting. They also draft players that they never did visits with

I wonder if the team considers Burks a possibility of falling. Last draft day I was talking to PGL about grabbing JOK at 26 and we ended up getting him at 52. Asante Samuel Jr was another guy people thought would go in the first, and he ended up going 47.

Seems to happen every year, and I don't think it's out of the question for Burks to be that guy if teams covet guys who boast more athleticism. We've also had success in this capacity. Both JOK and Delpit were often considered first round prospects who the Browns grabbed in the second. They had that name recognition, the type of guys the pundits are shocked or otherwise still discussing as available players.

As people have pointed out, it's best not to look too deep at these meetings because teams do it for a range of reasons - including speaking with guys they aren't going to draft or have no real opportunity to draft. I just wonder if it's a chance.

I want to say, in the past, AB has even used such visits intentionally as a smoke screen, if you look historically how he's done things.
Really though?
Like who?
I can not imagine someone wasting valuable time just to throw a smoke screen.
Maybe he was just watching 2nd or 3rd options. Or just evaluating?

Really though?
Maybe a better way to say that is, "AB has even SEEMED TO USE such visits intentionally as a smoke screen" .... as it seems like he never picks the players he brings in.

Having said that, maybe I'm dead wrong. It was reported we had contact with Newsome and Felton last spring lol.
