Browns The 2025 hunt for a QB

Eh, there's a 0.2% chance Gabriel outperforms Sanders, a 0.8% chance he outperforms Pickett and a 0.1% chance he outperforms Flacco.
Gabriel is the only QB on roster who can create. There is no doubt he is currently better than Sanders. He's had a better college career and was drafted higher. If we're talking traits, Sanders is only ahead in height. And I like Sanders.

After that it's pretty easy to see how this will go. Pickett suddenly becoming startable is unlikely. And Flacco is 40. I'd expect Gabriel to secure the the starting job by WK 3 Preseason most likely.

He fits with what we need, being that we didn't draft a Jayden Daniels, a QB that doesn't turn the ball over and throws accurately and on time. Not a big fan of his. But he can manage a game. But I seriously doubt he's better than Sanders right now. We will see. One thing is for sure. Our QB room is better than it has been since Baker left. We have legitimate options. And that's nice.

Sanders was a consensus 1st round talent who fell because of perceived attitude issues and his celebrity father trying to leverage his kid for an NFL coaching job.

Gabriel was a consensus day 3 scrub by everyone except Berry and The Laptop. A scrub whose ceiling is Brady Quinn.

It is peak delusion to think Gabriel is the best QB on the roster.

As for the other laughable.comment, "BeRrY hAtErS aRe EaTiNg CrOw."

Nahh McFly, we aren't. This draft was good, but not as great as you're trying to hype it up as. Berry wasted a 1st round pick on an undersized run blocking UT, wasted a 3rd round pick on a scrub QB after picking three solid prospects, ignored the WR position until all the good WR's were gone and lucked into Sanders in the 5th.

If Sanders works out then Berry inadvertently looks like a genius, otherwise not even close to it.

LMFAO

We all wanted the Browns to address the QB position. Berry has so far gotten Pickett (big gamble but inexpensive), Flacco (solid vet), Sanders (possible above average starter), and Gabriel (tons of experience and success).

And an extra #1 for next year's draft.

I kind of like it.

I have never seen a GM draft that scared before in my life. The whole draft screams Berry and DePudpuller know they are on borrowed time so they are stalling and trying to buy extra time after next season to keep their jobs. That whole thing screamed trying to con Truckstop Jimmy just a liiiiiitle bit longer.

The fact Berry looked unhappy and miserable when we traded up and drafter Sanders spoke volumes. That looked like a guy who was trying to kick the QB can down the road to have his ready made excuse and either Kevin or Jimmy said "nahh, figure out this QB mess you created now or else repercussions are coming."

know they are on borrowed time
I don't know man. I kind of have the other take. Not much sense of urgency. Most of the time, GM's on the hot seat have no problem trading away future assets to move up in the draft now.

Instead, Berry's team was planning for next year. Having said that, if he just drafted two dud QB's, he still has next year's class to take another hack at it.
I will say, come Christmas of 2026, he's either got it right, or he's gone.

There wasn't a sure fire, slam dunk QB prospect in this draft...so they are taking swings. We asked for them to find our QB. This is how you do it, take swings.

That is exactly what I want to hear. It's just a version of "I'm here to win the job", or, "I'm here to jump right over him and beat him out".

And btw, the concern about the "circus" or sideshow or whatever, is soooooooooo mild compared to the Watson stuff.
And no, for future reference, I don't care about "likes, follows, and un-follows".

You could be right. At this point everything is conjecture and spit balling. For all we know Jimmy told everyone sorry about the Watson BS, let's rebuild it and try again.
