Browns Amari Cooper Traded To Buffalo

So,
  • Bills get Amari
  • Browns get a 3rd and a 7th

vs
  • Chiefs get D-Hop
  • Titans get a conditional* 5th
*Chiefs Super Bowl appearance + plays 60% of the snaps turns it into a 4th rounder.

This is why KS will go before AB and Depo. Jimmy could easily tell AB & Depo KS is gone and if you guys can't do it so are you.

At this point it looks like KS is going to be the fall guy. Subject to change without notice.

Another WR trade comp vs the Amari deal

Amari
• PFF 63.0
• 319 yards, 3 TD’s
• 30 years old
• Browns get a 3rd and a 7th, lose a 6th.

Dioantae
• PFF 68.1
• 357 yards, 3 TD’s
• 28 years old
• Panthers get a 5th, lose a 6th

Funny story time.

I once ended up walking behind Diontae Johnson's girlfriend at Pittsburgh Airport. (She was on the phone and mentioned that her boyfriend "Diontae" was with the Steelers now but they probably weren't gonna re-sign him).

It was around midnight. Plane had just landed. While on the phone, she rips the loudest fart I've ever heard a woman make. Then she looks back and realizes I'm there. Gets super embarrassed. I just laughed my ass off and moved to the left as I walked so I didn't walk through it. 😁

Per some insiders (had this sent to me)...

"Four teams quickly engaged the Browns on Cooper, each attempting to deal for Cooper by offering late second and third-day draft picks.

The Browns refused all offers and remained solid in wanting a 3rd round pick for the WR.

The Bills came back and offered a 5th and 7th. Browns VP/GM Andrew Berry countered with the deal which resulted in the trade which came to fruition, the Browns receiving a 3rd and 7th and Cleveland would send Cooper and a 6th to Buffalo."

This is why AB wasn't willing to extend his contract to multiple years. He's too old and is not over the top great enough to merit that.

Good job by AB on this one.
👏👏👏

I hope people are ready for Nick Chubb's contract negotiations to end up in a similar place. A two year contract for mid range pay and/or likely based on production and snaps. It'll be fair to him, but AB isn't going overboard.

So, it's been about a month since the trade

Cooper at Buffalo: 7 receptions for 124 yards and an injury

Ced in the last month: 27 receptions for 330 yards
Jerry in the last month: 25 receptions for 387 yards

Yes, W's matter more and this is reach-silver-lining stuff, but it's something. We aren't winning it all this year anyway, so we'll welcome the obtained 3rd rounder.
