Rob Halford, the lead singer of Judas Priest called this the best metal song he ever heard, from my favorite band Y&T
Dave Meniketti is the lead singer and guitar player and sounds alot like Sammy Hagar on vocals but is a far superior guitar player and one of the better guitarists of all time in my book, check it out.

Great tune Dan,
they had alot of great songs, great band.
RIP Layne Staley.

They just released a new album but the whole thing that made them great died seven years ago.
Sadly there talent and honesty was the misery of Laynes drug abuse, even if you could why would you want to recreate that?

Here is another 311 video that I like. One of the reasons I like this so much is that this video is filmed at Crystal Cove State Beach which is close to where I live. My family and I go to this beach quite a bit. Oh, the song is not bad either.:)

I know I said I don't like much Hip Hop/Rap music, but every once in awhile I hear something I really like in this catagory. I have heard this song when my daughter is listening to the radio and I really like it, it has a good beat to it. After watching the video I like it even more, I wonder why.

Check this video out, it almost belongs in the Cheerleader thread.:D

SoCal, that's one of my favorite 311 songs. I love jammin this song at the beach, it's so relaxing and just a nice melody.

I actually had this as one of my ringback tones for a while. A ringback tone for those who don't know is a song that callers hear when they call me instead of the standard ringing sound

I'll try listening to most anything except hip hop and most country. (tried it, don't like it) I like classical music and jazz fusion but the bands I listened to in my early youth are the bands I alwas go back to.
Pink Floyd
Moody Blues
Yes
Emerson, Lake and Pamer
Jethro Tull
Rush
Led Zeppelin

Newer music I like is:
Stone Temple Pilots
Some of Disturbed
Evanescence
Everything But The Girl
Sarah MacLachlan
Alannis Morrisette
Those are the ones that come to mind, there are some more obscure ones but this is good for now. Good to see other Pink Floyd fans in here.

Classic rock

Led Zeppelin
Who
Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
The Doors
Aerosmith

(somewhat) More Modern

AC/DC
Metallica
U2
Linkin park
Disturbed

Obscure (if you liked most of the other bands listed, check these guys out)

The Union Underground
I do like most of those bands but what or who I guess, are they similar to? Also, I was born and grew up, partially, in Maryland near D.C. - what area are you from?

PS - finals in school ended yesterday but at this rate I'm thinking the season will be over before I get to 50 posts :D
