The scheme alone will help the DL be much better vs the run this year. We also shored up DL in regards to stopping the run. You do realize that Tomlinson was much better against the run than #1 DT free agent Hargrave, right? Hurst and Hill are nice depth additions with Hurst having starter talent if he can come back from injury. Big year for Elliott and we'll see improvement from Winfrey from year 1 to year 2.

The point is that we aren't going to find an impact starting DL in round 3. Anybody we draft will be a 'project' or at least a guy who will need time.

As of today, our newly built DL will be much better against the run.
 
Finding a rookie who can start in round three is highly unlikely. Even at DT given we have Hurst, Tomlinson and Winfrey already.
Just go BPA and hope for a solid young rotational guy that projects to start in a couple of years, if needed.
 
Well it would be his 14th season. He's probably done but who knows? If he can rotate in for certain situations maybe he has a place? But definitely after the draft. If we get a young DT those minutes would go to the rookie, I'd think.
