NFL Draft Pick #111, Dawand Jones, OT, tOSU

Also, the final tally is in. Dawand was the number one graded offensive lineman in his class. That C’s, G’s, & T’s. Everyone. Best overall grade and best pass blocking grade.

I'm all for a LT, but a high pick for a WR, DE or a CB depending on Newsome and Z Smith's return. It'd be a good idea to add an RB as insurance for Chubb if they don't think John Kelly is a decent option. All this is relative to the contract restructures to start the new season and where we are at in cap space.

Newsome is under contract for 2024. Browns have to decide by May if they want to pick up his 5th year option which will be worth about 13M since he wasn't selected to the pro bowl. I suspect they pick up the 5th year option.

RB I think insurance for him will come there. If FA it's likely on the cheap.

Willis under contract with his 5th year option at a bit over 14M. If he as bad as some make him out to be then he is playing as who would trade for him at that price? If he is what I suspect the Browns think he is, based on them picking up the 5th year and the cost I'd fully expect to see him starting the majority of next year at LT unless he suddenly becomes as bad as some make him out to be already. Long term I'd image they either believe he is long term and will work out a reasonable deal, or they try to find/develop a long term out of this year's draft.

If trying to cost cut to get under the cap, from an OL perspective I'd imagine they will start looking at the Gs. Be it restructures, trade, move on from, or looking to draft/develop replacement

AB gushed over Bitonio and Teller at his presser. Wills did improve some just before he got hurt. Just horrible timing for him but Sure retain him that 5th year of his rookie deal. He really isn't terribly bad. He just has not shown the value expected from being the 10th pick of the 2020 draft. Most of us here know he was switched to LT, but it seems like he'd have elevated his game a bit more. He's always jumping early and looks lost at times. (ME's)

I wasn't sure about Newsome, but it's good to know he'll probably get his 5th year here even if he didn't play as well as he'd like to in that playoff loss. I can still see us drafting a CB if only because of Ward never playing a full season. Not a pressing need, but if a good one falls heck yeah.

So, It looks like the biggest needs are WR and DE. Btw, I've heard several times that the FO has eyes on certain high-end FA WR's. I've heard Tyler Boyd as well as Mike Evans on different occasions.

Right on cue! Except the players they list do not move the needle much and the couple that do are going to get paid way too much for our cap. DPJ? C'mon man!

Mike Evans and Amari Cooper on the outside, with Moore, Tillman, and another drafted dart throw at a speedster (Goodwin turns 34 in November; who knows if Grant is healthy) would be pretty deadly. Evans on a 1- or 2-year deal.

Mike Evans and Amari Cooper. Feels deadly just typing their names.

I don't want Mike Evans anywhere near this team.. He drops too many key passes... He can get his twilight pay elsewhere...

I don't see how Cooper + Evans/Boyd would fit within the cap. If CLE goes after a Boyd/Evans they are likely moving on from Cooper

Is Cooper worth 20 million per year? He's currently the 12th highest paid WR in the league. Maybe AB can do some cap magic for 2024 with his contract and create something more palatable?
