Browns The 2025 hunt for a QB

I'll be delighted if TEN takes Hunter @1. Then every QB would still be on the board.
Just so it gets the shiny object off the board and puts Berry and Depo on the spot.
Then they can pick a winning QB if they're capable. Focus on priorities, not the shiny object.
Certainly, by now they should realize they need a capable QB on a rookie contract.
Keep in mind this is the same FO that could have jumped and landed both Garrett and Mahommes but a baseball bean counter said Mahommes wasn't a 1st round caliber QB and had Deshonne Kizer ranked as the #1 QB in that draft, so ......

I like you want a QB but come on maaaa'n ,there is no crystal ball sack.look at lamar FFS? the heiss and he goes 32?
we had 3 picks to get him.we could have had 10 we wouldn't have picked him.
20/20 is fantastic but its always via the rear view.
lets just take the best QB we can (sanders) and hope for the best.he may be jackson V2 with mustard AND fries.
lets not let another team find out instead of us.WHY NOT US?

Have said it before, the best teams keep swinging at QB, and even double swing, because every prospect has knocks, and the ones who don't often don't pan out as expected. As far as those were were selected #1 overall goes .... Peyton Manning, who did have two knocks (1. questionable arm strength and 2. "doesn't win the big game") is about as close to panning out at the top as it has ever come. Everyone else ceiling'd out early than expected, or busted.

I still like these approaches best:

Have prime Alex Smith (1st overall pick and playoff QB), but move up and draft Mahomes.
Have prime Brett Favre, but select Rodgers in the first
Have prime Rodgers, but select Love in the first
Have prime Flacco (recent Super Bowl winner), but move up and select Lamar.

THAT's how you prioritize the position.

20/20? 😂😂😂

Dude, go back into my post history. I am just a fan that played football his whole life, made it to D2 College ball but didn't make the cut, then played in small semi pro leagues until his late 20's. In other words not a professional GM making seven figures, nor a scout making six figures.

Yet somehow I am able to repeatedly watch film on QB's and correctly hit on them, repeatedly. I took mountains of shit for coming out the gate and saying Mahommes was the ultimate hybrid with Peyton's brains, Rodgers arm, Big Ben's elusiveness and Vick's scrambling ability and playmaking ability. It's right here on this board.

Paul DePodesta, a fucking clown being paid seven figures annually ran a program on his computer screen and his algorithm said Mahommes was a bum, ranked lower than Deshonne Kizer. This same clown went on ESPN Primetime and said he didn't see a first round prospect at QB in the draft, and that we drafted his highest ranked QB, a kid who was the absolute drizzling shits that intelligent football minds pegged as a 5th rounder at best.

If a 30 something year old ex linebacker turned Construction business owner can hit on QB's, and hit big time on numerous QB evaluations, said person expects the so called experts being paid in generational wealth to have the knowledge and brain cells to do the same, at least once in dozens upon dozens upon dozens of chances to do so.

please, what say you regarding howard, milroe and dart?any traction there QB whisperer?thankyou.
howard reminds me of couch TBH in a good way.
I could get behind hunter IF we pick a QB at 33 or trade up with said pick.
I do think sanders could be great, dont under estimate his fathers influence on him.
he knows pro football and what it takes, most kids have no clue going in.
just give us a QB promise for the future an Im in.

Milroe seems like a guy who may pan out of you sit him behind an astute Veteran for a season or two before throwing him into the fire.

Dart I really want to like, and can get behind if we draft him but honestly, go watch Allar or Manning clips, then watch Dart.... The difference is huge. Two look and act elite, Dart acts like good but not great.

Howard would be a good second or third day flier.

In this draft there is Ward, then everyone else. Ward looks the part. Ward acts the part. Ward shows the skills for the part. Less than a 1% chance Ward is there for us.

That leaves Sanders. I don't see all the hype and I have really, really tried liking the kid. It's something I won't hate, because I would rather a kid "who could" that has a good attitude and work ethic verses the piece of shit we have been saddled with for several years now.

his o-line was terrible.the kid ran for his life on all the big games vs good D.
interesting contrast when you see howard with virtually "all day" back there
I do wonder too what sanders sr will be like to deal with for the FO.
they dont want to see him on sportscenter blowing up the OC
this #2 pick is very tricky.I'd pick sanders or swap it.
cam?sorry I just see another #1 QB pick bust

DeRapist Watshit- IR
Flacco- Starter
Pickett- Back up
Sanders- 3rd
Gabriel- Practice Squad
Too many QB's. Until one of them grabs the horns as QB1, this is the problem I wanted.

That order looks about right as we sit here today, although I'm not sure Gabriel makes it to the PS, and it's darn rare for a team to risk their 3rd rounder to waivers in year 1.

But hey, the fun is in seeing what the heck happens.

Eh, there's a 0.2% chance Gabriel outperforms Sanders, a 0.8% chance he outperforms Pickett and a 0.1% chance he outperforms Flacco.

There's no chance we bounce Flacco unless she shits the bed, and even then, we need that Veteran experience helping the young guys. Cutting Pickett would be stupidity as would cutting or putting Sanders on the PS.

Outside of "no, he's mine!!!" Syndrome I don't see a way for Gabriel to make the roster as a back up, much less starter.

Which is a fantastic freaking problem to have right now.

Gabriel has a ton of experience and was a very good college QB. He's the only pick I question though. The Berry haters can eat crow. This was a very solid draft. Again, but even more so, thank you to the "talent evaluators" who allowed us to get Sanders in the 5th round instead of with the 2nd pick. Graham and Schwesinger and Judkins have one thing in common: they are hard-nosed, big-effort players. Hopefully Graham's work ethic (playing every fucking down like a madman) will rub off on our extremely talented (but not so high-energy) superstar DE. Fannin's a very talented youngster. Sampson runs hard and is fast.

I don't think Sanders or Pickett or Flacco or Gabriel will be a top 20 QB next season, but we don't need one of them to be. Our defense is going to be really good again (even if we don't get JOK back). We need a competent QB. If we had a decent QB last season, we would have won a lot of games. Instead, we had the worst QB in the league for a paltry 54,000,000.

That extra first rounder next season is gold.

Huge draft for Berry's future. I hope it was our fake talent evaluators who led the smoke screen on Sanders. I give Berry a solid A- for the draft. Time will tell.
