The #29 pick is in -- David Njoku.

Garrett, Peppers, Njoku. a mid-2nd round pick & first pick in the 3rd round tomorrow. An extra first rounder next year.

Um yep! That's a win.

They're setting up for another top 5 pick in 2018. So yeah, it's a win if you're ready for more projects to take their time developing like we saw this past year.

Ya, it's a very solid Draft that will rely on how good our coaching staff are as teachers. Will they be able to maximize Garrett's immense talents? Can Peppers be taught coverage skills to be a true Safety? And will Njoku (only 20) be able to fully develop skills to be a full-time dominant TE? Last season showed some promise, but the initial intake of this group will be a real test.

Color Me very unimpressed with this garbage draft...

Hooker, Allen, Howard. We had three top tier prospect to take. Instead, we turned it into more projects to help us with draft position next year.

Dude, we could have taken one of your three favs. Not all 3. That one guy wasn't going to move the needle over Peppers. Our draft selection next year has been locked as top 10 until we find a damn QB.

Sheesh, go to sleep for the night. You're over the edge while I'm trying to get excited about the new talent.

sleep on it.

People will say we reached for Peppers, but, if he can serve a role ala Deone Buchannon in AZ or Landon Collins in NY, well, that's amazing. His return game value is extra.

Njoku - will be 1 year deep once we get our QBOTF. That's important for TE's - they often take a year to develop.

Peppers will figure himself out (or, Gregg Williams will figure Peppers out) in 2017.

We can draft a CB relatively high in 2018 who can be plug-and-play.

And still have all the ammo in the world for Darnold. Or hey, maybe we'll be going after Garoppolo, or Cousins.

You discount how important it is to acquire multiple round 1 and round 2 picks for another year. We're very far away. If you don't like the prospects, fine. But the strategy is extremely rational given where our roster is and how the draft was going (overdrafting of QB and skill position).

the strategy is garbage!

If this was baseball, where you need 5 years to rebuild a team and farm system, then awesome. By year 4 in the NFL, you lose the guys you drafted 4 years ago and have to start all over again. Get some damn talent that can play now.

That's my point. Any one of those is better than both Peppers and Njoku.
