Browns Game Thread Week 16 Dec. 25 Sat. @4:30 the Browns visit Lambeau Field to play the Packers on FOX

Meh. All situations call for different playcalling. Something Stefanski fucks up time and again. Last week the situation called for passing. This weeks situation dictated run. Stefanski guessed wrong again. The proof is in the outcome. Both losses. Try as you may you cannot dispute those facts!
I don't know because KS could've been holding Baker back knowing he has an INT issue. It could be Baker's play that has been forcing KS to manage games the way he has. Heavy use of the RB's and TE's. That would make sense as to why we see a weak passing game. That and like Doug Dieken said a couple weeks back he doesn't read defenses at an elite level yet.

We're at the point now where KS should let Baker throw the ball more and more and watch him sink or swim so going into the draft and FA we make a move for a new QB and phase out the Baker era as professionally as possible if they think it's best for the team.

Yep,

When the pass is working the whole game Stefcuckski goes for the run. When the run has been working all day and Mayfield is throwing INT's every other pass Stefcuckski tries forcing the pass. Either he is so inept and in over his head he lacks basic football knowledge or... The reports were right and The Laptop is calling the plays each week and Stefcuckski is doing what DePo tells him to do. Either way it isn't a good look.

I am more convinced now that the NFL needs to allow coaches to challenge any missed calls. and these challenges should not be tied to time outs. allow 1 a half, if you win you get it back. incorporate a Sky judge type to speed it up. time of these games can be controlled in so many ways and still get all the commercials $$$ in. 💱

Why would you throw the ball more and take the rock out of Chubbs hands?

We played what might be the best team there is. in their house. lost by a FG.
Talk about glass half full. I remember a few short years ago we Didn't have a Dam Glass
That’s just another excuse. Best team my ass! At the end of the day it’s a loss whether by 2 or by 20. It doesn’t matter! Until they can win against winning teams plus win the close ones plus win in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line it don’t mean shit!

Zegura said on CBD if you look watch all 22 film you'll see. I don't have it at this time. He said DPJ dropped a first down pass. Baker also threw high and/or missed on open WR's.

His point is KS is making the right calls for the most part and that it's more on the players poor execution.

To me that includes Baker as well as DPJ, Njoku and others.

I would agree it is more player execution than playcalling. I think KS has actually gotten slightly more aggressive over last half of season as he was playing not to lose far too often. I commend him for making adjustments, he will never be Riverboat Ron but I believe he is intelligent enough to make changes when necessary.
I think the FO has agreed to let the Baker Mayfield experiment run its course and this is what we are seeing. I want to believe Baker is the guy but it appears he just can't get it done with the game on the line. Could a shrink help him? Perhaps, but something has to change between the ears IMHO.
Next season Baker will be back but there will be someone brought in to compete, that I am sure of.

if it is all injury related and he lights the world on fire, great problem to have. If he continues to be the Jeff Fisher of QB's, then we can take solace we didn't pay him $35M while we figured it out.

GUYS! stop it.
it wasnt the zebras,it wasnt the WR's,It wasnt the playcalling,it wasnt the FO,it wasnt the haslems,it wasnt the D and no this was no
boating accident! it was a QB. unleash baker? there..hes unleashed.this is why KS won the COTY.he won a PO game with baker.
see when that receiver waved his hand over his head? he wants the ball to run onto.he wants it lobbed over his body to catch on the otherside. baker fu&king throws it underneath and gets picked while the other side is wide open? vision that poor is difficult to explain away.
these are rookie mistakes. this is not, NOT NFL calibre QB play.period.
I beg to differ. It was all of the above plus Baker Mayfield for $100 A-Rod

Get ready to be disappointed as long as the laptop is in charge!

I'm not sold on that idea.
The FO has not been shy about bold decisions, they just don't blow money for the sake of spending. A first round QB doesn't cost a lot of $, Baker is on a friendly contract and there aren't a ton of glaring holes to fill in the draft. If Baker shits the bed let the kid play. If the new QB shows promise, Baker walks. If Baker lights it up - you sign him, ditch Case K and let the new draft pick sit on deck. Kick it down the road for a year.
The window is still open for a few more years with the key players in this lineup

Brady, Montana, Brees, and the other few in the modern era are exceptions. If Baker is not the answer then CLE is going to have to go get the next attempt in the first round for the best odds of landing the answer. Unlike many years back when I would disagree with he keep drafting them in the first round, that was also prior to the rookie wage scale. Now teams can cut bait on a first round pick with much smaller cap impact.

Now does CLE need to make that move in this next draft? I am not sold they need to try to grab a QB top of Thai draft. Partly because the QB class doesn't look that promising at all.

nor did TB12 but isn't that the point? Its a crap-shoot.kenny pickett could be #13dan marino. WTF knows right?
truth is its a no-brainer we need depth here.I could even live with a 2nd rd QB.what rd was #16montana taken in?
