WR Draft Prospects

I was pimping Stephen Hill a few weeks ago. He came out of the Georgia Tech triple option offense where receivers are blockers more then receivers. For that he may be a bit of an unpolished receiver who needs some seasoning but he has great size and speed and reports are that he runs good routes.

If Cleveland can grab a veteran in Free agency Hill would be a nice pickup. But, he isn't a guy you can plug in on day one to be your #1.

I believe that based on their combines Floyd and Wright will fight to be the #2 WR taken. I do believe that Blackmon, Floyd and Wright will all be gone before the #22 pick.

If you wait until #22 to look at upgrading the WR position then Randle might just be the best available. Jeffery just scares the hell out of me. He could be extra special but he could also be the biggest bust of the draft. If you are considering him, you need to do your homework. Internet reports are that he is well over 230 lbs and not in very good shape. He was physical but not fast and had trouble separating last year.

I do like Joe Adams and Steven Hill as WRs that can be had later in the draft.

I believe Randall is going to be the Pick with #22 or our 2nd rounder. if we don't get Blackmon at the top of round 1.

I think I wrote that before the combine because Randal didn't do himself any favors there. He needs to have a really good pro day to raise his stock back up.

Hills pro day is tomorrow (Tuesday March 6th). I think he has a growing buzz around him.

Blackmon reportedly ran somewhere between a 4.40 and 4.50 40 at his pro day, along with a a 35-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 4-inch broad jump

I'm still not big on taking a receiver that high... But he may be BPA at 4, and it's an obvious position of need. It's going to be a tough call.
