OMG!

He's going to be a sad MF'er when he figures out there ain't no team willing to pay him that kind of money for an injury prone QB. Somebody truly on his side needs to beat him up a bit and tell him he's pissing away a ton of money. Look at what b'more has done! They went and got a new OC. It's not necessarily to help Jackson. It's very well a move that signals his last season in b'more!!

I think B'more is recognizing that life with a run first QB is very temporary...

Good luck finding any other NFL owner willing to pay that much even for the best QB in the game.

In that regard we're lucky the Haslam's are willing to pay up when it's needed.

On another note I heard Daryl Ruiter on 92.3 theFan yesterday comment that Dee Haslam wanted Freddie Kitchens fired after just 4 or 5 games in during that season! Who knew she could see the shit show that the FK hire was?!!

Actually, I would bet the wooden nickel that Jackson will be playing under the franchise tag. What the hell. It's just a wooden nickel. I would basically call his bluff and use the non exclusive tag. Let some other team cough up the two first rounders and let them pay Jackson the ransom he thinks he's got coming. Two first rounders give pretty good odds of finding a worthwhile replacement for an oft injured running QB. I would do that believing that not many teams would want to give up the picks or the ransom.

Totally agree. From the time he was drafted, my thought was a 4-5 year QB. Somewhat like RGIII

Jackson is going to have to play in an offense that's not going to baby him. If he sucks at it his value is lowered. If he can play in Monken's offense and be productive he might get a better contract but it might not be from b'more.

Have read this Lamar situation, due to the Watson contract, has inhibited the Ravens this year in free agency

So, Agholor (who doesn’t scare anyone), and some re-signings.

Not sure all the dots connect on their own, but man they’ve been quiet.

Last 4 posts over on the PurpleFlock fan forum:

1) Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on him but like most fans I'm just tired of it. Atleast now it's confirmed what many of us believed that he just doesn't want to be here. Honestly, I don't even think it's all about the $ either like I said several times he's holding to thay guaranteed money just to force a trade knowing the Ravens will not give it to him. Damn the culture of this organization has gone to poop what good players will seriously want to come here. I have more anger towards Harbs because I believe it starts with him but that's another topic.

2) Yikes. What a goddamn shitshow

3) Is Lamar Jackson a trader?

4) Well wtf are our options? Call up Houston or Indy? That's it right?

Top 10 QB's tend to get everything out of their contract anyway.

Supposedly, Joe Burrow is going to be fine with signing a huge, yet traditionally structured, QB contract, because he knows he's going to play it out, and get all of it.

So, this is all fine with Watson, as long as it works out. If he plays it out and and gets us somewhere between sniffing the playoffs and a couple of playoff wins every year, then it's financially no big deal.

Remember, our heyday of "recent" memory was losing in the AFC Championship game with Bernie and never getting to the Super Bowl. Boy, those were the days haha. Actually, they were.

FTR, yes, I would trust Joe Burrow way more with Watson's contract than I would Watson. But, whatevs. We here now.
