2 years off and coming into an offense that doesn't fit your skill set 12 games into the season doesn't typically set you up for success. And dummies who define his career by 6 games are just that...dummies.
But it's OK...you do you. You play obtuse and ignorant to football well. Just don't come around and start rooting for him when he plays well this season. You've chosen your mountain to die on...and it will be a slow death.

I still need to see Watson do it here and I think he will but I sure ain't placing any bets at this time. The FO said last training camp that Watson was all this and all that. We saw significantly less. Albeit after Goodell fucked him and the Browns over.
It'll be interesting to see how Goodell covers those lawsuits against multiple owners and whether or not he himself is accused of sexual harrassment/wrongdoing.

I call bullshit. He was here all of the offseason and preseason. It's not as if he walked in cold after his suspension. He was bad for 6 games. That's not defining his career. It's stating fact. Will he be better next season? Well it will be hard not to be. Will he be a top 5 NFL QB? We will see. We are certainly paying him like he is.

Yes, he walked in completely cold in game 13. Zero game reps in 2 years. No. the off-season and preseason are not real game reps and real game speed.

Actually Watson has the ability to go a notch up at the end of the half and the end of a game, when it matters. It’s one of the traits elite QB’s have.
13 teams inquired about him at the height of his baggage. There’s no way it was because he was a heckuva garbage time QB, because he isn’t.
He has a top-3 career QBR in NFL history, which is a much better way to compare QB’s, instead of W/L record.
Nobody is saying he had a great 6-game stretch last year, but it seams reasonable to think this 27 yr-old has a shot at being the QB he always has been.

But I thought he is a superstar? Joe Burrow missed a whole season with a busted knee and came out slinging. Watson has played football his whole life. Quit making excuses for him and judge him on his play as a Cleveland Brown. I hope he's a hell of a lot better this season. But last season, he was not good in any way. Period.

No, it wasn't as long as Watson. But that doesn't change the fact that Watson was bad for 6 games. You think it takes 6 games for a top 5 QB to regain his footing in the NFL after being suspended for 2 years? I hope that's it and Watson can now look like the QB we are paying for. But I suspect if he starts slow you Watson happy ending enthusiasts will fall back on this excuse. "One more season and Watson will be great." I can hear it now.

I don't think anyone is saying Watson had 6 good games.
And it's reasonable to say he didn't hit the ground running after such a long layoff.
It also seems reasonable to think he may get his groove back this year.
But yeah, we're stuck with him even if he doesn't.
Oh, and ftr, Watson has historically had a slow first game, so if we don't win on week one, or he has a crappy game in a loss, the naysayers will be out in full force for a week.

Not laying out, just pointing out, that it's been his history. I actually think Stefanski will game plan the shit out of the first game and give Watson very executable and friendly plays.
Then again, the QB can be Charlie Frye, but if he's starting for us, I'll pull for him.

It's not even comparable and should have never tried to be compared. It's time and different offense. Vastly different from Burrow
