Favorite Bands/Music

I do like most of those bands but what or who I guess, are they similar to? Also, I was born and grew up, partially, in Maryland near D.C. - what area are you from?

PS - finals in school ended yesterday but at this rate I'm thinking the season will be over before I get to 50 posts :D

You'll be to 50 in no time :)

TUU is closest to disturbed on that list I think. Heavy metal, angry music. Think of being on acid in a mosh pit with the occasional deep though lyric thrown in and you will be close. :)

Gaithersburg, MD right now, though I have moved a LOT. Born in Denver (hence the Broncos), lived in Michigan, Missouri, Maryland, Maine, Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Montana, and Oklahoma. Most of those states, I lived at multiple locations within the state. Inside Maryland I have lived in Columbia, 2 places in Baltimore, 2 places in Gaithersburg, and Ellicot City. Basically if you were anywhere along the I-95 or 270 corridor I have been there. :)

Edit: Oh and to count as living there, I assume at least 1 month, and someone in the house receiving mail that pertains to you. None of the whole "I stayed there for two weeks in a hotel" BS.

I lived in Siver Spring, MD - kind of hoyty toyty now but a regular neighborhood when I lived there. I know where Gaitherburg is, isn't Mt. Airy not too far from there? My mother lived there for awhile.

My sister is a big fan of Disturbed so I will tell her about that band also. Thanks for the info and I plan to make it 50 the legit way not by meaningless bumping of threads for post points. That's just rude.:)

I know Silver Spring well, I dispatched and performed field services for the Montgomery County Humane Society, odds are i have driven on the road you lived on. :) Gaithersburg is just north of Rockville. Route 270 and 95 kind of form a V that meets at DC. Starting at the souther most part of 270 and going north, the order is DC, then Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg. If I leave for work (in DC) at 5:00 in the morning (when there is no traffic), it takes me about 20 minutes to cross the DC border.

That is so cool! I was born in Bethesda, but we lived on Hayden Drive in Silver Spring. What I remember about Gaithersburg is that when we would make the trip back home, it meant we were almost there. I haven't been back in many years but I just love it there. I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Redskins. I remember my grandmother yelling at the TV when they were playing, it was so cool.

Yep, I picked up a holding stray Golden Retriever off Hayden Drive one time, I went the other way with the Redskins. I was here the year the 'skins beat the snot out of my Broncos in the superbowl, and I have disliked them ever since. :D

Oops, we appear to have threadjacked a music oriented thread, this simply will not do. To tie things together, check out the band EastonAshe . They are in Pheonix now, but they started out in Annapolis which is local to me. My ex-boss was the backup Bass player for them. Their sound is a little too top 40's for my taste, but they did some great cover work and have a good energy to them if you catch them live.

SoCal - agreed those guys are pretty solid.

There's a good unplugged set floating around the web worth checking out:
