Browns Joe Flacco

And there it is . . .
When push comes to shove, Berry needs to put him on the active roster the moment they're convinced he can run Kevin's offense.
Simply because there a few teams who would sign Flacco to their own roster just to spite the Browns.
I'm sure you can think of a few teams who would do that.
This also means PJ Walker would likely end up on the PS.

The other reason to move Flacco to the active roster is simply because rookie QBs do not win Lombardi trophies.
Ask Brock Purdy. Or, check the records of Lombardi winners. Did they win it with a rookie QB in the big game?
I really don't have Faith in PJ to do it either.

I think it's DTR this Sunday and then it's relative to Flacco knowing the offense.

I like DTR getting another game in under his belt but right now, Flacco is a better option. He's a SB MVP. Ain't nothing he hasn't seen and he is comfortable being the QB for a team with SB aspirations and a very average WR corp outside of Cooper. The OLine can rest assured his drops are not going to change and he isn't going to bail out of the pocket. Kind of an advantage for defenses, but that's where our QB situation is and we can trust in coach Callahan that the OLine will be very aware of it and act accordingly. Aka, run the ball. A lot.

Do you think Flacco is better?

DTR, himself, currently gives us no chance to win. He is terrible and makes completing a forward pass look like an impossible feat. The only way we win with him is if the defense continues to play out of its mind; our OL over-performs; and our run game becomes unstoppable.

Why do I say that you ask? In 4 games, he has 0 TD passes and 4 INT's. His average completion in 3.7 yards per completion. He has a 42.4 rating and a 29.8 QBR. By every statistical measure he is literally horrible. Bad. Really, really bad.

But you say, "He only had 1 true start in which he had an entire week to practice with the ones and prepare".

So let's just isolate that game. The stats should be at least average, right? Wrong.

- 55% completion - bad
- 3.8 yds per completion - Horrible. This means he can't throw the ball downfield at all. Hell, not even 10 yards downfield.
- 0 TD, 1 INT - bad
- 54.9 rating - bad
- 32.3 QBR - Horrible
- 13 total points - bad
- 3 scoring drives (12 total offensive drives) - bad
- 2 drives of 50 yards or more.- bad

To add insult to injury, Here are the Browns drives:

- 31 yards - punt
- 50 yards - TD
- 9 yards - punt
- 7 yards - punt
- 77 yards - FG
- 25 yards - punt
- 5 yards - punt
- 12 yards - INT
- 4 yards - Punt
- 2 yards - punt
- 18 yards - punt
- 48 yards - FG

- 5 three and outs
- 1 five and out.

When you look at the performance in totality...dog shit is actually being nice. We won that game because of defense...despite terribly, shitty, awful QB play. We NEED Flacco to get ready fast. We cannot waste this historic defense and a 'win now' team by letting a bad rookie QB learn on the job. If Flacco can at least come in an manage a game, he has a chance to be our Trent Dilfer and win us a Super Bowl.

DTR isn’t great, but he overcame 7 drops including a TD pass. Those stats are way different if his receivers were better that day. Granted, drops happen.

Stefanski is going to have to let him pass down field more. Risky? Sure. But the D’s are gonna jump the short routes for pick-sixes otherwise.
