NFL Draft The number 2 overall pick

Howard talk has vanished lately. That was quick.

He's doesn't use the middle of the field; is not accurate to the middle of the field and can't hit tight windows to the middle of the field. Those attributes are extremely important in the Stefanski offense.

He also doesn't throw down field very well. He primarily throws intermediate to the boundary allowing his super star WR's to make plays...making him look much better than he is.

For the Dart fans. I've been trying to tell you he stinks and his stats are padded vs bad competition this entire time. Here are some splits to prove it:

Dart Split Totals:

ACC/CUSA/Sun Belt/ Furman (5 games)
- 122/154 (79%)
- 1958 yds
- 16/2 TD/INT
- ~241.5 rating

Vs the SEC (8 games)
- 154/244 (63.1%)
- 2321 yds
- 13/4 TD/INT
- 157.3 rating

Dart Splits Per Game:

ACC/CUSA/Sun Belt/ Furman (5 games):
- 24/31 (77%)
- 392 yards/game
- 3.2 TD
- 0.4 INT

SEC Games (8)
- 19/31 (61%)
- 290 yards/game
- 1.6 TD
- 0.5 INT

Dart vs Top 25 defenses (per game):
- 58.49% completions
- 270.4 yards
- 1 TD
- 0.8 INTs

- 42.8 yards (rushing)
- 0 TDs

- Florida (27), Kentucky (28), Georgia (9), LSU (14), South Carolina (16)

Dart stinks vs any defense with a pulse. He pads his stats vs the cupcakes and bad defense on his schedule (that is Lane Kiffin's MO trying to win his QB the Heisman). But he is not a good QB in terms of processing, reading defenses, post snap reads, ball placement, accuracy, hitting tight windows, etc....

That's kind of how I feel about Riley Leonard.. He's just too erratic..

Howard has grown as a passer. He shows nice touch and good arm strength. Footwork isn't great, but he's athletic enough to make plays with his feet. He is also a very good leader and extremely intelligent. Even if we take Sanders or Ward at #2, I'd still think about Howard in the 3rd. He is a solid decision maker. Don't sell him short because he was on a great team. Biggest downside to Howard is that he'll be a 24 -year-old rookie. He'll probably end up being a solid back-up. But he has a chance to be very good.

Dart has toughness and is a good athlete. Had a solid college career but doesn't have the arm for the NFL. If Ewers had Dart's athleticism, he'd be the #1 pick.

Ewers is the best passer in the class, but he's simply not big enough or athletic enough to succeed in the NFL. It would have been fun to watch OSU's passing game this season with Ewers at QB.

I rank the QBs as follows:
Sanders - ready to roll
Ward - tremendous upside
Milroe - as a project
Howard - reliable leadership
Ewers/ McCord - good passers, great anticipation, little athleticism.

He'd be awesome. He's just not that strong of passer. It's too bad really. Attitude, decision making, legs, leadership is all there. Just doesn't have the arm. May have been the best 3rd passer on the ND roster. Lloyd Carr's grandson is probably the best passer ND has. Angeli, the 2nd stringer, is around the McCord level ... who is a much better passer than Leonard.

I'd love to take him with one of our dozen 6th round picks though. I'll fully admit I'm biased. I don't think he's develop-able, but ya never know.

I have no problem with that list.

Sanders and Ward are a tie for me as I just don't know enough about them to have one edge out the other.
I'd take Milroe down maybe a notch, and McCord up a notch, but I'm nitpicking.
I really like Howard, but I'm afraid he's Mac Jones 2.0.
Dart is like a Minshew to me. Fun enough to make it interesting now and then, and that's about it.

It's just crazy now bad QB was last year. Watson couldn't find an open man, Jameis just heaved it wherever, and DTR looked like a scared freshman. Didn't help our run blocking scheme was totally ineffective. It wasn't a Callahan problem, btw, who's Titans OL was ranked 31st last year, but a "let's adapt the offense to Watson" problem. I get why we did it. Had to go all-in. It didn't work. Oh well.

Musgrave, to QB coach
• Known to the Sanders family and well respected

Shurmur, OC of Colorado
• Knows Stefanski well, inside intel for sure

Shedeur
• Accurate, and very good decision maker. AB’s top two desired QB traits

It’s early, so we’ll see.

I am getting more and more bought into Sanders. It seems like his biggest knock is having a legendary father who is one of the greatest athletes ever. Not much of a knock to me.

At every turn, when they're asked will they dictate Sanders' Draft, it's been an emphatic no. Which makes sense. I think Deion just wants his son to have a long, successful career like he did. Maybe not 2 sports this time.

Shedeur Sanders is the Kevin Stefanski prototype. On time. Accurate. Efficient. Stays in the pocket. Decision maker. Programs changer. Leader.
