NFL Draft - Shedeur Sanders | Page 6 | Barking Hard

NFL Draft Shedeur Sanders

Sanders and Ward were neck and neck after the games were played, and the Browns supposedly loved him at the East Shrine game and combine, then silly season started

=====

Anywho...

Per AI using film data metrics,

Burrow vs Sanders arm strength :
Burrow = 56 mph
Sanders = 55-58 mph

---

For on-field speed, from X, during the 2023 season,

Shedeur Sanders hit a game speed of 20.1 mph

For reference, not one starting NFL QB had reached that speed at the same point in the season.
Desmond Ritter was eventually clocked at 21.5, the tops for the year.
Milroe has hit 21.9 mph before

NextGen stats says the average on-field speed for a QB is 16-18mph.

Mayfield supporting cast vs Sanders, as some want to say the "only" reason Sanders had his numbers were d/t Hunter

Mayfield's supporting cast at OU:

CeeDee Lamb - probowler
Hollywood Brown - NFL starter
Dede Westbrook - NFL starter
Perrine/RB - NFL starter
Orlando Brown - probowler
Cody Ford - NFL starter
Mark Andrews - probowler
Coach - Lincoln Riley - damn good

Sanders's supporting cast at CU:

Travis Hunter - WR1 in this year's draft (targeted 25% of the time in CU's offense)
Jimmy Horn - WR31 in this year's draft
Shepard - WR33 in this year's draft
Hester - WR34 in this year's draft
No NFL OT's, G's, RB's, or TE's. No top tier HC either, for Shedeur

I'm not saying Shedeur is a sure thing. There is no such thing. I'm saying, for a QB-famished franchise, he's worth a shot.

Sanders is this years Jordan Love.

He is a prospect with heaps and heaps of on paper talent and potential, from a weak ass conference playing largely nobodies.

Is the potential there? Sure.

Is it day 1? Not likely.

The big question: Is he worth spending a #2 pick on and living firmly in the world of hopes and prayers?

Had we landed Russell Wilson then sure. But we didn't, so no he isn't. We don't have the infrastructure to sit him for several seasons to coach and develop the kid. It is going to be another case of "okay kid, here's opening day. Don't screw it up!"

Been there, done that, have the 47 different jerseys.

Sanders is not a prospect who has to sit a year, let alone multiple years.

Love 38 college starts. First year was a bit of QB mixing.
Sanders 50 college starts

Love in his two years as the only starter got worse his second season as full time starter.

Sanders got better each year at Jackson, then got better Colorado each year.

Sanders has shown progression even as the competition increased. There is no comparison with Love.

Sanders checks every typical box for a QB to be able to play probably day 1. He also checks the boxes for a highest floor, but lowest ceiling.

If I were to be wagering on who ends up a long term NFL starter in this draft between Ward and Sanders, my money would be on Sanders

We should pick up a vet just to guide this kid a bit. still out there cheap Carson Wentz, Case Keenum. Joe Flacco.

I would try to trade up for Travis Hunter to go with him .. how I have no idea.

Good old Masters, still as clueless about QB's as ever and still as arrogant as ever.

Sanders is playing in the College peewee conference. His daddy Deion made sure to set him up in the optimal system to pad his stats against scrubs to roll out that hype train. The kid is not a day 1 starter and is unlikely to ever be a high end starter in the NFL.

But hey, what do I know, right? I've only been spot on about 99% of the QB's we have discussed on here over the last 16 years. Hey, remember how I was the only one on here saying Mahommes was the next great QB prospect and the best QB in that draft, vastly superior to DeRapist Watson?

Yeah..... Keep trying to play contrarian.

Yup playing with no run game and sketchy OL is an optimal system.

Remind me, how did Ward do against tuffer competition when he was in WAS and then with MIA schedule...

Arrogance? Read your own posts. Also, you were not the only person on this board who was on the Mahomes train (and no I am not saying i was).
