The #29 pick is in -- David Njoku.

General consensus on Njoku, that he has the clay to be an elite pass-catching TE. Freaky speed and athleticism, high points, and so on. When I think about the Browns "WRs," I also factor in Njoku and Duke Johnson along with Gordon, Coleman, and Higgins.

By the finale, Kizer's best game, we didn't really have a dearth of targets. National media never really caught up.

Realizing this isn’t new info, but still, Njoku has started at a pretty high comparable floor...

Njoku is gonna be so good. And it feels like it'll be a big surprise to a lot of people, which I find odd. He's a freak and when I imagine our primary receiving corps, he's always on it: Flash, Juice, Duke, the Chief, and CoCo.

And when you consider the potential of our new RB group, this shit gets downright freaky. Or "potentially freaky," as in the best young skill group in the league.

I was shocked so many here were calling for the Browns to draft a TE high based on Njoku's 20-yr old rookie performance. Nice to see it put in perspective - thanks Ocon.

Njoku has as good a chance as any other tight end to break into or knock on the door of the top two tiers of guys (1st tier being Kelce & Gronk, 2nd being Engram, Ertz, Walker, Graham... maybe a few others).

I could easily see Njoku being the #5-6 TE in the league in 2018, #2-4 in 2019. Graham & Walker are in the twilight of their careers, & Gronk's bionic body is breaking down. No reason Njoku can't be Tier 1 by 2019 and overtake his classmates, Engram & Howard. He's the most corporally gifted of the trio by far. Just need to be consistent & make the easy catches. He's got the circus ones down, it seems.

That's great to hear then, but we'll have to see in the pre season.

If he can't block then defenses will key on him to diagnose the play. So, if he splits out from a wing it's likely play A.

If he lines up in the slot it's likely play B. Knowing that he ain't blocking shit.

It's why I personally prefer a Bruce Arians type TE who blocks and is tough at the LOS.

He made it to be the starter and caught 32 of of 60 targets thrown by a bad QB.
Thats is a good start.
Next season though he will have actual receivers as teammates and a real NFL qb throwing the ball and an OC that maybe _has_ a plan for the offense. So it could go any way with Njoku in 2018.

My one hesitation might be the knock on Taylor in the middle of the field where a TE like Njoku (and there really aren't many) would feast on LBs and safeties. But again, keeping on open mind to see what Tyrod CAN be.

Been waiting for someone to post this, with 1 game to go, and including a Hue lead 0-16 season...

Sure he could be more consistent but IMO as he develops chemistry with Baker he will only continue to get better. He hasn't been awful or out of the picture. I think he's right about where we want him to be.

Just good lord enough with the jugs machine.

looks like he was cooking meth...
And you posted that at 420!
