The #29 pick is in -- David Njoku.

Well, I guess the draft profile was wrong. Here it is from the horse's mouth:

Is it David "In•joh•koo" or "Nah•joh•koo"?

Pluto says the latter. Most fans say the former. I've been saying "en-JOE-koo".

Eventually, when depth charts are officially released, they'll have a pronunciation guide at the bottom. Can't find it now.
Nvm, found it in his draft bio:

"pronounced nJOE-koo"

Don't know how Pluto keeps messing it up.

Learning to pronounce his name is very important, we'll be saying it a lot after all the touchdowns he scores. Ya'll see some of the clips of him in red-zone drills. Nope. Fuck that. I ain't covering him. We aren't cut from the same cloth. :snoop:

Dude is cool as hell. Ready to embrace the greatness.

Honestly, if the growing Ricardo Louis buzz is true and he keeps developing (do they NOT coach WRs at Auburn at all?), we've got some big dudes out there. Louis, Njoku, DeValve, and Britt could cause some serious matchup issues.

And then Coco runs a 4.3 for an 80-yard catch!

Word from Terry Pluto 2 weeks ago was that Louis looks totally lost...

Ain't nobody on this offense for any defense to be scared of.

Ain't no player for any defense to have to game plan for either. *drool*

Points are going to be scarce this year. :shame:

Njoku is a thing of beauty. To be that big, that strong, yet move that fluid? Yeesh. He should look totally trash playing soccer. Seeing a dude 250, 6'4" looking fluid is amazing.

I mean, you'd be fucked putting a linebacker on him, right? A safety is too small, as well. He's a legitimate mismatch nightmare.

Our killer guards and Crow's league leading YAC ought to concern DC's, as if they stack the box, we'll unleash the Chief.
And OC's may want to keep an eye on Collins, Kirko, Ogbah, and that one guy..... oh yeah, the first overall pick.

I think we'll see the box stacked plenty until we show we can beat it and what makes it hard to beat is no QB.

If one of these QB's shows he can beat defenses that stack the box then it'll open things up. But not until then.

Also the RT is going to be tested throughout the season and defenses will overload and stunt on that side until the RT shows he's competent. Njoku will have to chip more than usual.

I suspect a lot of power left and screens to the left type of plays to help alleviate some of that, but that doesn't keep defenses from stacking even still. That just manages the overloading on the right.

...unless a QB emerges.
