The funny thing is most of the past critism toward Baker was about him paying too much attention to outside noise, needing to be be more professional, focusing on football first, etc.

It's life for everybody in all professions.

There will always be another person bashing your accomplishments. It's not racism, privilege or whatever the latest BS social agenda terms it to be. It's the competition of life! Currently, if you can't deal with your short comings it is fashionable to blame another demographic and not look inside yourself as to what you could have done better.

Blame others for the bad outcomes you're associated with instead of looking to what you could have done better. #democrats
 
looks like the predictions of wilsons demise have been somewhat premature...as predicted.
as suspected and he confirms in this interview he played hurt, so couldnt train properly and put on weight.
he looked a step behind most of the year - and he was by his own admission.
stats,tape and PFF is all well and good but doesnt tell the human side of the story.
dont forget mack was thrown into the NFL early to play as a starter and played great his rookie year
you have to read between the lines sometimes on this stuff.hes a promising NFL starter calibre LB and he will make this team.
dont be shocked If mack and walker are your starters. JOK might start at SS,yeah I know they said WILL.I dont believe that.
you dont expect SS harrison to play 16 games do you? taking bets.

Mack is a natural leader, glad to see him making it hard on the personnel guys. We are very deep, 17 games from now I am sure they all will have had significant time under their belts. There are a lot of positions where we won't be falling off a cliff if we have an injury talent-wise.
 
Mack said he was contemplating retirement last year and his head, "...wasn't in a good place." He seems to have straightened out his issue while mending his body. A good guy all the way around and we're lucky to have him.

So, if he makes the team which LB is cut cause we ain't keeping them all. Takitaki? We resigned Malcolm Smith and added Walker and Wu. I'm pretty sure those guys are staying right here along with Elijah Lee who is the ST ace/LB. Priefer loves him.

These are excellent problems to have, btw!

JOK really isnt a LB. hes a DB. so we keep on 6 LB.smith/wilson/phillips/walker/taki and lee/fields - someone needs cut.
after the disaster we had last year with injury adding another body or 2 is a must
4 x TE is unnecessary.Im still not sure why we drafted fields TBH should have drafted Talanoa Hufanga instead

for me its a no-brainer,we have big problems at our 2 safety spots.so JJ3 solves one.what about SS?
and we draft a guy like JOK? look at our depth at SS its harrison and...my god its nobodies.
harrison has already had an injury in camp.well,its either JOK or delpit at SS.harrison is unreliable at best.
I think JOK at SS would be great.

Talanoa Hufanga?! Like that guy is going to make the team any sooner than Fields? Both of those guys are PS guys unless they can mash on ST's. You know that.

no,he has played snaps at both spots but was predominantly a FS.
It just so happens we dont need a FS right now
rumours are he has been bulking up in the offseason weight program to play SS
why hufunga? hes a SS not a LB.thats why.fields will probably end up on the practice squad.we just cant have 7 LB.
I mean If delpit or JOK DONT play at SS? we in trouble.we cant rely on harrison (who is already hurt this year) then who?
I guess it was a fair reaction to almost running out of players at LB last year

in T2 with only 2 LB you need your SS to be a banger.#47 made that sh*t work in tampa.
JOK is perfect to fill that massive void in our D scheme.I just cant see why else we drafted him If not to play at SS.
If we stick with harrison at SS and play JOK as a normal LB? I predict this D will fail.again.

Unless As Joe Woods stated earlier this year that he wants to play a dime defense 50 to 60 percent of the time. If true we really do not need many LB's at all.

I still think it's not about a players listed position and more about whether the player can play multiple roles. Roles that may change depending on the opposition.

Im diggin on that fo sho, look for delpit and JJ3 to team up on 2 deep sets and for JOK to move up into the box.

We picked Newsome because Greedy is not 100% and may never be 100%. As Dieken pointed out a few days ago he's out there practicing with his arm dangling around still.

we should play joker at SS but with much flexibility (a polamalu type role)
JOK is taller and bigger, If hes half as smart as #43 too? he'll be a pro bowler
