Browns Deshaun Watson - Football Talk

Baker got no sympathy for his hurt shoulder last year. All I heard for TBPP was that he was short and inaccurate. Never once considered the injury. For 250 Million, I expect Watson to suck it up and get out there. No excuses. Even if he is hurt. If we don't make the playoff this season, it's on Watson. Period.
Just stop.

Baker will never
Be a franchise quarterback.

He was a problem behind the scenes

Literally could not see over his oline

Let it

Throwing shoulder. Non throwing shoulder. Also two years ago.

Working for me. I assume you were going to use this one.

Also, imagine comparing a throwing shoulder injury to a non throwing shoulder injury in regards to QB play. lol!

I noticed Baker had his annual October leak to the media that he is really banged up but being a trooper for the sake of the team to explain away his horrific play. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

If you've ever had a hurt shoulder, non-throwing even, it fucks up your whole upper body movement. You could clearly see Baker completely lose his accuracy, or what accuracy he has. I never said Baker was the long-term answer. But I promise you, based on play so far this season, we're a much better team up to this point with Baker at QB over what we've gotten out of Watson. It's a long season and Watson could turn it around and lead us to the promised land. It's there for him if he has it left in him. But he sure has fuck hasn't shown me jack squat so far. Ok, a decent game against the Titans. That's 1.

Decent article by Pluto about being "medically cleared" vs "performance cleared".

If we want to believe our QB1, here's what makes the most sense to me.

1. He's always been able to play through injuries, and he thought he could through this one too, but ...
2. Kosar says he's had this, and "you swear you'll be fine ... it doesn't really hurt", but the velo isn't there, and ...
3. Kevin probably believed the MRI, and what Watson was saying. Makes sense to do so. But this is a sneaky injury.

A lot of the twitter idiots want to yell about the Browns not being transparent etc. But there are some problems in medicine that are darn hard to predict the healing window. Personally, I don't see where the Browns communication about this injury was muffed at any point. It's just the nature of some injuries. I'm sure they would have handled it differently in hindsight, maybe saying "look, this is a tricky thing, and we just don't know", but they also had Watson telling players and media he'd be good to go darn near right away.

Watson said in an interview earlier this week that he made the decision to start against Indy and he thought he was good to go. Outside of that I think you're right. The Browns were letting people know what they knew. Watson decided that he was good. It was obvious he wasn't and KS yanked him out of there after he hit the ground hard. Some of this is the "same old Browns" stuff that will hang around until we win consistently and in our division. (Sidenote: Those teams that beat us wouldn't have if we had Chubb. Even with an injured Watson. I'm sure of it.)

The Browns communication was back and forth because the injury went back and forth. For the record, I'm not sure he's going to come out tomorrow throwing darts all over the place either. I don't know what to expect from him.
