Well, in a way, more has already come out. According to Rice's spokesperson, Rice was directed to write that e-mail to herself by White House counsel.

So once again, Rice was left holding the bag.

The question I have is why she said she knew nothing of it in an PBS interview on March 22. Did she really believe that the email and, in particular, that portion would remain classified forever?
 
There is a new wrinkle in the surveillance of Michael Flynn. In General Flynn's conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on December 29, 2016, Flynn’s name was not masked so there was no need to unmask him in that case. Also, in that case, he was being surveilled (spied on) by the FBI, not the NSA:

Not sure what this means but it sure seems like some questions need to be answered:

For example, does this mean that Comey’s FBI was surveilling Flynn directly as opposed to an incidental capture of an American citizen in lawful NSA surveillance of a foreign entity or is there another explanation such as: did the FBI obtain the wiretap from an outside source such as a foreign government?

The Graham hearings can't come too soon!

The idea here is not so much to uncover wrongdoing as it is to have the words “Obama” and “Biden” and “investigation” appear in the same sentence as much as possible between now and November, and to occasionally turn up nefarious-sounding but ultimately benign materials, like Susan Rice’s recently declassified email to herself in which she noted—gasp!—that Barack Obama made clear he wanted investigations into Russia’s election hacking to be done “by the book.” “The Obama Administration is turning out to be one of the most corrupt and incompetent in U.S. history,” Trump tweeted last week. “Obamagate” is looking more and more like this cycle’s Hillary Clinton email scandal—a web of implication and insinuation that doesn’t add up to anything, but is just confusing enough to muddy the waters and distract from the corruption and incompetence that has been unfolding in plain sight this whole time. It seems particularly tired this time around, but that doesn’t mean it can’t work.

Dan, the subject before us is Rice’s email to herself. What was its purpose? Who was it intended for? Why was it classified top secret in the first place? Why was a portion redacted when it was first declassified and released months ago? Why was the rest of it declassified and what does it tell us?

As for its purpose, there are two prevailing theories that are currently being thrown around. One it that it was simple CYA. The other is that it was intended to deflect blame from Obama to Comey. I think it was neither.

I think it must have been intended for investigators and prosecutors with top secret clearance since it was written for the record that only investigators and prosecutors with top secret clearance would likely see. The key, in my opinion, is that it suggested that Comey suspected Flynn of treason. I think it was intended to keep investigators looking after they would otherwise have given up on the supposition that the head of the FBI must have had reasons for his suspicion.

When it was first declassified and released, the section on Comey's response to President Obama’s question remained classified as top secret because the prosecutors in the Flynn case no doubt correctly thought that it would be prejudicial against their case against Flynn.

The reason the rest of it was subsequently declassified after Sullivan refused to immediately allow the charges against Flynn to be dropped was because it was exculpatory in the sense that it showed that Flynn has been spied upon. It gave Lindsey Graham what he needed to start Senate hearings and gave Flynn’s lawyers the ammunition they needed to appeal the case even before the hearing before Sullivan.

That is what I think. What do you think?

But it was his job to talk to the other worlds/countries diplomats. I admit since the end of the USSR, I thought we should have better relationship with Russia. it just makes sense for us to work together. the world would be a safer better place. but the hawks never wanted it to happen, they won.

Understand at the time the intel people were playing games with the whole Trump team. trying to get them to turn on each other. all of them unaware of what was going on about them. Flynn thought he was talking to fellow Gov workers(fellow friends) like he had for decades. if he had known they were setting him up, he would of asked for a lawyer... like anyone would. me or you would not trust FBI or any other Gov etc because we don't talk to them for years. daily.

What we do know is Michael Flynn is not some kinda criminal. here is what Flynn a fellow Democratic did.

Because he warned them about the danger of Obama’s Iraq withdrawal and predicted rise of ISIS – and then, after leaving office, called Obama out for failing to heed that advice.

You are mixing two problems.

Shall we separate them:

Regarding the Flynn case, there most certainly is something there and it is rotten to the core. Moreover it is part of a larger problem which is corruption in government.

A discussion of the other problem regarding people out of work has been moved to the Book it thread.

(CNN)Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn may not need to wait months for answers in court to the Justice Department dropping his case.

A three-judge appeals court panel ordered the trial judge overseeing Flynn's case, Emmet Sullivan, to explain by June 1 what the court should do with Flynn's emergency request to force the dismissal of his case.

The Justice Department, which is seeking to drop the lying charge to which Flynn pleaded guilty, is also allowed to chime in, the appeals court said.

Thursday's order comes from three judges on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, two of whom have recently sided with the Trump administration in cases related to the Mueller investigation.

I don't think many people have died because they took extra precautions with disinfecting surfaces. Nor do I think disinfecting surfaces should be neglected out of hand. However, now that we know that surfaces are not one of the significant causes of the spread of the virus we can have more confident in what we must do. Specifically, we must continue social distancing and face coverings as the main line of defense against the disease while reopening.

The deal is that people at the CDC are like normal people. When there is a scarcity of reliable information, they tend to err on the side of caution. They read a study of the virus remaining on surfaces for significant periods of time and they put out a warning. They subsequently learn that it wasn't actually a live transmittable virus that was found and, if they are honest, they back off.

What they said initially wasn't a lie. It was the best information they had at the time coupled with a measure of caution. The easy thing to do actually would have been to maintain the original misinformation. It is the usual bureaucratic thing to do, but if they do that, they perpetuate an unwarranted and needless concern. At that point, it does become a lie.

They didn't do that in this case and I think they should be commended for it.
