1. Players have done this before. Duke Johnson. David Njoku. Immediate trades didn’t happen.
2. Watson demanded a trade when in Texas and it took over a year. Of course, there was a lot going on for that one.
3. Browns stood by Myles, without waiver, during his suspension.
4. The Browns celebrate him at every chance possible
5. There’s an element of Myles being about Myles. Most players don’t talk about individual awards. He does. Clowney pointed this out too.
6. So, what’s your plan at QB Myles? You supposedly didn’t like Baker, so we took a (desperate) swing at Watson, and the one part of the deal that didn’t work out was the talent. The concerns, which were baggage and contract, didn’t cause the demise.
7. We’ve been to the playoffs 2 of the last 4 years.
8. You’re vested in the community, and invested in the Cavs.
9. The owner has spent. Despite Browns Twitter saying “Haslam is all about the money”, he’s spent more than any owner. Dolan is the one who doesn’t spend, and is all about his money, not Haslam.
10. Crosby is trade-rumbling too. I get not being on a Super Bowl contender isn’t ideal, but there are only a handful teams who are considered to be such.
Lastly, sorry Myles, edge defenders don’t win championships. QB’s do. Here are the top 20, and none of them are playing this Sunday. Only one played in their conference championship game. So, “trade me to a team who has a QB that’ll win it for me”, is a fairer statement.
