Browns - Myles Garrett demands to be traded. | Page 3 | Barking Hard

Browns Myles Garrett demands to be traded.

Insiders saying, according to a past AFC GM....

1) The FO still has no interest in trading Garrett. The unwieldable contract status is part of it.
2) But if it happens, this GM's opinion is, a trade "could accumulate 3 firsts plus", which I assume means a player.

Since financially, a post-June1 deal currently makes sense, it could be:

Browns receive:
  • 2026 1st round pick
  • 2027 1st round pick
  • 2028 1st round pick
  • A plus-starter (OL or LB?)
Trade partner receives:
  • Myles
Dallas would be my "dream partner".
It's Myles' childhood team, and they have decent potential. Check.
But, they also have potential for us to have a decent draft pick comp. Check.

Jerry is old though. I'm not sure he's going to be able to sell himself on Myles when the comp is no first round draft picks until age 86.

Having said all that, if I'm AB, I drag my feet through free agency and the draft until June, and maybe Myles will come around, or maybe the draft haul offer will present it's self. There is ZERO incentive to rush this thing and do it now, unless an offer like that comes across.

Also, it seems like most are saying three 1sts for a non-QB isn't going to happen.

They were surprised by him requesting the trade. I've read that he first requested it in private, team said no, he then went public. Browns believed everyone was on the same page and they were getting aligned to make him the highest paid defensive player in the league. Everything both sides have said, up until this past Monday, would support that.

He is still under contract but this will just keep getting messier and messier the longer it gets dragged out. There is little chance this gets repaired. I doubt Myles would sign a new big money deal after he publicly said he doesn't think the team will be competitive anytime soon. If the Browns remain firm on not trading him, he could easily just sit at home like Watson did in Houston. (Time is a flat circle lol)

“Just looking at the trajectory of the team and talking to some of the higher-ups … I don’t think we’re aligned on where the team is going in the near future.”

He's 100% done. Add in that he consulted with LeBron about leaving Cleveland... stop posturing and look to trade him. No point in trying to keep him here.

He will bring in two #1s and change. He is 29 now.
So probably a playoff team like the Lions, maybe the Vikings and probably the Redskins.
I dont see the Bucs or Eagles make that trade.
Maybe the Bucs.

It would be nice to tell your employer you're leaving to do the exact same job somewhere else and oh btw, you should be very good to me and provide the best of references as I bail out on you.

Yeah right. Boss man would tell you GTFO! You are on your own as you wish. Shut the door on your way out.

I don’t feel like doing him a “solid” by catering to his requests unless he really really helps
Our cap issue. Still…..screw him.

Why bendover backwards for a dude who flipped his vehicle then almost killed Rudolph with his helmet.... The Browns stuck by him... He should reciprocate.. It's not like you get a chance to pick the parents who birthed you... There's no God given right to play in the Superbowl... Unless you earn it... And this guy... As talented as he is... Has vanished in more games than he made an impact in...

Just goes to show you. Joe Thomas is one of one.

Trading Myles now means we have to tear it down to the studs for 2 years, due to the cap hits. I'm not sure this city wants that.
And whenever an NFL team does a rebuild, guess what only matters .... getting the QB. Otherwise, as we've seen, it doesn't work.

The Browns have no choice but to trade him. Apparently he (and/or his people) have been calling the Browns requesting a trade since the end of the season, but either the Browns FO have refused to take their calls or have ignored them.

Now, not only has Myles gone public, but he is doing a press tour talking about why he wants out and what teams he would be interested in. There is not going back now.

Add into that he is basically saying his teammates suck and can't win and he doesn't believe he can win with them...and there is no way he can return to the locker room. Even if he did, you don't want a player who so vocally does't want ot be here

It's obviously not good to lose your best player. But the bridge is burned beyond recognition. Time to sell high and start the rebuild. There is no other choice.

I warned you guys Garrett should have been traded years ago. Had they listened we would have got a huge haul, and guess who would still likely be here ....Baker Mayfield. A guy Garrett couldn't stand and he likely had something to do with Baker getting traded.

Oh well, as usual the Browns make everything but the right moves.

I'm not trading Myles for a bunch of late first round picks. So he is either getting traded to a shitty team, or he can sit here and stew.

I wish we could sell Minnesota on taking Myles and giving us McCarthy.

Why on God‘s green earth would anybody want McCarthy? Talk about a quarterback with zero elite traits. He makes Sanders look like Tom Brady.

McCarthy is not worth MG.
We're just fucked again. Hopefully the Haslams re-build the FO after the draft and FA. The draft and FA is the only reason to keep these guys right now. If they have a GM in mind do it sooner than later. Otherwise wait until after AB suffers through his own mess.

McCarthy was looking like the next elite NFL QB by all accounts. I wouldn't have drafted him, but it looks like Minnesota was right. I'd trade for him a heartbeat over letting AB draft another bust.

Are you high?

There is not one single account that McCarthy was looking anywhere near elite. Literally not ever. Not in high school. Not in college. And not in the NFL.
