Browns Myles Garrett demands to be traded.

This is all fair and mature, JT. I have no problem with your opinion. And thank you for coming down on the side of “so, the Browns need to maximize this trade”, rather than, “so the Browns need to make sure Myles ends up with a contender, as a favor to him, no matter the cost to the team”.

Ya, I'm all with this stance. If Myles wants to retire, so be it. If he wants to sit the year out, so be it.

This is not the NBA. No one cares about maximizing trade value or whatever. And even if we did, he's still a year away from that mattering.

I hear the HOFer Joe Thomas. I think we all get the sacrifices and risk players take to be great. But that's why they're well-compensated and highly respected. Sorry that's all that was guaranteed.

Maybe he should consider being a part of the solution during the last 2 years of the contract he happily signed up for? Sick of the coddling.

Most straightforward article I’ve seen on this to date. Well done by Pete.

Basically, as we all now know, by asking to be traded, we have no choice but to impact the other well paid players, and tear the roster down to rookie contracts for 2 years.

“Trade me to a contender, and all of the other best players to whoever, and you guys can figure it out after 2027”.

Yeah. Nah. You’re the employee, Myles.

I'm really souring on Garrett. I didn't like him at first, but he has been a good player and a good citizen (except for that one incident against the Steelers). I've grown to like the dude. But now?

Either way it shakes out.. We wont miss Garrett.. Time to turn the page.. And hope JOK can come back and build through the draft..

How many SB's has Garrett got us to?.. I'll wait...
You could say that about any Browns player since 99.

Myles is definitely coming to the fork in the road where he's going to keep producing at a high level or he'll slowly slip off.

But to say we won't miss him? I think you're vastly understating what he brings to the defense. I know you have an issue with him, it's cool, but every other team in the NFL has probably called the Browns and inquired about him.

He's not easily replaceable at all.

People should start looking how the Eagles D has been put together.

We had the #8 ranked defense on PFF.
No, PFF isn’t the say-all-be-all, but Schwartz had the boys playing pretty well, when the offense was clearly hopeless.
Not shabby.

Indeed. Our defense would have played even better with a decent QB running the offense. No question, the defense is good enough for us to be a contender for the division, at least. We need to bolster the running game for Sanders to have a good chance at being decent next season.

Indeed. But it's much easier to play QB when your defense shuts other teams down. Hurts being able to scramble for 1st downs and Mahomes not being able to was a huge factor.
Part of that was keeping gap/lane/rush integrity, while also getting pressure with 4. PHi didn't have to blitz the entire game.

ND's defensive coordinator was recently hired by the Bengals.
In his introductory presser, he was asked why come to Cinci.
Answer: "They have Joe Burrow".

The DC comes, because there's a very good QB in place. That sums it up.

I use blitz as bringing more than 4 rushers.

"Vic Fangio didn’t blitz a single time on 42 dropbacks in Super Bowl LIX, according to NFL NextGen Stats. And the Eagles still sacked Mahomes six times and had 16 pressures. Mahomes was pressured on 38.1% of his dropbacks despite not seeing a blitz.

“That’s our pride,” said Josh Sweat, who led the team with 2 1/2 sacks. “Vic didn’t want to blitz. We knew if we had to blitz, we’d be in trouble. We put it on the four-man rush and we made it happen.”"
