Browns The salary cap thread

Conclusion

While $41.4m might seem like a small amount of money to spend, if you are going to look at how the Cleveland Browns have spent in previous years they can easily spend five times this amount because they will backload contracts. So for everyone who is desperate to paint a picture of doom and gloom on where the Cleveland Browns roster stands the truth doesn't seem to match when they can spend up to $200m improving the team this offseason. I don't expect them to spend this much but having the freedom to do it is positive.

Financially, we have, without a doubt, the best owner in the league. Jimmy say "Fuck it, I'll sign any check."
I hate when uninformed fans give the old "we'll be bad until we get a new owner". Well, 2 owners ago took the team and left, and the last owner (owner's son) was way more in to the IPL than the NFL. And neither came close to Haslam's spending, commitment to NE Ohio's high schools and neighborhoods, and he saved the Crew.

It's the fuckin' QB. THAT's what we can't hit on.

Nobody knows exactly how much input Depodesta has in player evaluations let alone about what he does. I assume he creates proprietary football programs for the Browns and AB uses them to guide the FO in player acquisition.

His title is Chief Strategy Officer. It says little about his day to day duties.

"...DePodesta is tasked with implementing systems and processes to strengthen the Browns organization. In this role, he works closely with Berry, Stefanski and members of the player development and research departments to optimize all organizational decision-making efforts"...
