The #1 pick is in -- Myles Garrett

That video really makes me admire the human body. That's an insane quantity of weight, so much so it makes even Garrett's legs look like twigs, yet he's able to push that fucker for three reps. That's incredible. The strength of the human legs is woefully underrated.

That white single picture is insane, too. Garrett and Njoku are freaks. Their bodies are something else.

Happy to see him in that condition. He looks in great shape, and clearly his ankle wasn't a big deal if that's what he's doing yet camp is still like three weeks away.

I don't know. Seems to me like he ought to be able to get a better looking pair of shoes. That one on the left looked particularly dirty.

(And he is careless with his phone too.)

That exercise isn't truly working his feet as much as his quads, but OK.

Oh for Pete's sake. Of course it works his quads. But you don't do that exercise without putting significant pressure on the feet, as is true every leg exercise, unless you're doing quad and ham extensions with the feet dangling free on a machine.

It's a good sign.

I believe those are the infamous "yeezys" which cost $350, look ugly as sins and seemingly provide no support whatsoever. But, Kanye West designed him, so they're amongst the most in demand shoes worldwide. If that's bad, Kanye's most notorious fashion statement was when he unveiled a $120 plain white t-shirt that sold out in minutes. It was literally just a white shirt. Pack of three white shirts at K-mart for $10 but fuckers out here buying Kanye.

To defend our rookie, he did sign a sponsorship deal with Adidas, so we're probably going to be seeing a lot of those god awful shoes.

Then again, I only wear Converse, even when working out. :eyebrows:

Is there an actual exercise designed specifically for the foot? Just curious now.

Not really. There is for the PT and rehab world, but not for the weight room. Isn't even something that compares to hands, like grip strength "but for the feet".

It's going to be sports specific agililities to really know though, so I get the spirit of your point - as a carefully measured, calm leg press is only reassurance which goes so far. :)

The next thing I'd like to see, even though we probably won't, is controlled plyo and on field iso drills.

Ugh! You guys got me worried. Playing hurt and playing at 100% are two totally different scenarios (Just ask Joe Haden). Is Myles Garrett Injury prone? The last thing the Browns need is another Courtney Brown...

Myles Garrett https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myles_Garrett

Freshman - After the season, underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments in his hand, an injury that occurred in the sixth game of the season against Mississippi State.

Sophomore - No Injury.

Junior - Junior year found him limited by injuries. He suffered a high-ankle sprain to his left leg in the fourth game of the season against Arkansas, and did not appear in the games against South Carolina and New Mexico State.

Rookie w/Cleveland Browns - Signed a fully guaranteed four-year, $30.41 million contract (with a 5th year team option at the average of the 10 highest paid players at his position) that features a $20.25 million signing bonus, yet is in a walking boot with an ankle injury during non-contact OTAs.

Ugh! I love this guy. Super Talented Freak QB Killa ... just like Courtney Brown...

-Al, a doom and gloom realist, but yet one of the most hopeful Browns fans out there...

Well......mmmmm yes he's injury prone and the comparison to C Brown is valid. Brown had the tools and when healthy was a beast of a player....I fear history repeats itself with creampuff.

An injured Joe Haden falls apart. A healthy Joe Haden is a border line pro bowler.

An injured Myles Garrett:

The great ones are able to suck it up and play great even when hurt. Nowadays a guy stubs his toe and he sits.

I understand the sunshine and all ....but man to live in the world you guys do.

To say you aren't concerned about drafting a guy with our #1 pick who is still injured, and has been for over a year, multiple times, to the same extremity ...just makes no logical sense to me.

Seems to me his foot breaks down under the weight and power of the beast on top of it.

I hope to God I am wrong, I assure you.

Still injured tells me he's a slow healer and will likely be injury prone throughout his NFL career.

I'm always hopeful because I'd like my Browns fandom to be more than a cold mix of analysis of SPARQ scores, business-based personnel/contract/cap assessments, and pretending to be a college scout. At some point, I'd like to add emotion to my fandom, including caring about AFC North standings in November and December. That's why I have hope for the players the Browns have chosen. If they don't emerge, nothing has changed for me.

Still injured? Am I the only dude who saw that workout video from last week?

C'mon now. We don't need to be doctors to know he ain't doing that heavy lifting if he's still injured. He's already healed up.

This is just getting weird. I'd have thought all Browns fans would be happy to see that. He posted that explicitly to show us that his ankle is fine, and it went viral because Browns fans were so happy to see it. Yet there is still weird little sect of people who actually seem disappointed that he's healthy and his injury isn't as bad as it was initially made out to be. How unfortunate.

Browns fans have grown weary and suspicious of first round picks. History since '99 gives them good reason. My guess is if Garrett goes out and performs as advertised, all this talk will be forgotten and those who love him now (before he proves it) will be gloating and making sure everyone knows "I told you so". Especially if he fucks rothlisberger up like he stated he would a few weeks ago.
Maybe a bounty (incentive) is in order here ;)

Words are one thing.. Action are a whole other matter..

I don't expect Garrett to do much with Roethlisberger. I remember the last time we were hearing this kind of talk. Back then it was Mingo. Remember that? Roethlisberger responded with a series of one step quick passes to the sideline and that was the end of that.

Sacks are hard to come by unless the other team cooperates or is forced into being one dimensional. If the opposing quarterback is taking seven step drops and their right tackle is a statue, then it is easy. Unfortunately, the Steeler's right tackle is not a statue and Roethlisberger will likely not be taking seven step drops.

And if our offense enters the game seven points behind, it is likely to be a very long day. The first thing we have to do in order to beat Roethlisberger is keep him from scoring early.
