The Browns staff didn't post it. If you're not familiar with Browns Chalk Talk, this is who they are:
http://thesportsdaily.com/browns-chalk-talk/

For the past 20 years, training camp IS my Browns season. The fun ends when the regular season begins. Most seasons I start paying attention to other NFL teams and college football when September rolls around.

I clearly missed the chalktalk part :-(

I feel you on camp being the season

So the folks writing the headline for the video didn't watch it since it wasn't a sack. Secondly are we really getting excited over a play not in full pads?

Yes. Or do we need you to tell us when it might be appropriate to be excited?

With any luck, our press coverage will be back if this pass rush operates as intended. For too long, we've been asking our corners to cover forever. As a result, we've played a lot of off coverage in hoping to avoid giving up big plays and it has made the underneath game much too easy for quarterbacks to hit.

I'm hopeful we get immediate impact from Garrett and Ogbah takes a step. That's going to bring out the best in Shelton, too. It would allow our DBs to get more aggressive if we can trust our pass rush to be in the fact of a QB before he's got time to take a deep shot from a clean pocket. Even knowing that we could be in range of hitting him is an eye opening result.

We're in a strong position with Kirksey and Collins, too. They are excellent blitzing linebackers, but we've lacked the ability to bully the offensive line in to surrendering blitzing lanes without consistently losing the integrity of the offensive line, giving a guy like Ben a nice lane to step up.

Last year we gave up 4.6 per run (31st) for 142 yards (31st) and 498 rushing attempts (31st). Hopefully our new additions and experience can help us shut down the run.

Sound defense is right. Keep it simple. Shut down the run, pressure the quarterback. We do that, we can beat anyone.

I fully expect Ben to take a beating opening day

They'll run the ball if Garrett is too much for them.

I suspect they'll test his edge protection with L Bell to be sure and some quick throws/WR screens if it gets to bad for them.

But that would be nice to see. Our D affecting the opponents offense. :rapture:

Right, Garrett's value is not only sacks. There are always things that opponents can do to avoid sacks. But limiting what opponents do can be significant too.

I expect that Ben will retire after this season no matter what. I also expect the media will play up the angle that Ben retired because of Myles Garrett, especially if Garrett plays close to his athletic ability.

It is an interesting decision for Roethlisberger. He's only just turned 35. It's not like he's even that old given how many quarterbacks are comfortable in the 38/40 range.

One would assume he, of all people, would want to play on. Tom Brady only has a year or two left, and that's going to open up the AFC given what a tremendous pain in the ass Brady has been for any other QB to outplay in a championship. I absolutely think Tom Brady will retire at the end of the year if New England wins the Superbowl again. The 6th round pick was a 6th ring, and New England have done all in their power to put the team in win-now mode.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh still has an excellent team. They're amongst the best drafting teams in the NFL. They're due to lose a lot of key players, but they've also added an abundance of young talent.

While the Browns are certainly an ascending team, I see the opposite for Kentucky and Baltiless. They're aging, haven't exactly been great with drafting, and both their quarterbacks, in my eyes, are vulnerable without a team around them.

It's an odd one. Ben does seem genuine in his view that the end is in sight, but he's in a great position with that team and some of the competitors for the title also reaching the end of their career. Perhaps the findings of the concussion reports have him questioning if he should get out while he's still in relatively good shape.

His lineman size has allowed him the questionable luxury of taking many hits to get the throws off. I don't think he is in as good shape as you think.

Go Browns!

You're right, I'm not his doctor and I have no idea what he's feeling or how he's feeling. Just seems that without an obvious serious injury, and a very real shot for the Steelers to contend over the next few years, it seems an odd decision. All those hits may have certainly added up, though.

I would tend to agree with you but your very mention of the Steelers' drafting prowess made me recall this article which, despite its lack of details / depth, nonetheless garnered a furrowed brow and a skeptical "hm" when I read it

Artie Burns, that linebacker from 2 years ago . . . I don't think their recent first rounders have been home runs, come to think of it.

I think Burns kind of sucks but ryan shazier is a pretty good player.

The thing about Pittsburgh is like Seattle they tend to hit big on mid to later round picks. They also don't give up on their players and coach the shit out of them. It helps when the coaches don't rotate every 2.5 years.

They don't have a great history picking great QB's Outside of Big Ben they don't have this great legacy. They are in a world of hurt when Ben is done.:heh:

And it may not be physical decline. He may just say I've had enough of defenses trying to take me out and I'm tired of it. Sayonara mother fuckers.

As long as he fucks off, I'm happy. I'm just glad he's going to be around long enough for Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah to rip his fucking head off. :snoop:
