I thought Garrett looked fine. He was very disruptive the two plays that Ogbah had back-to-back plays. He got at the passer then stuffed a run on the next down. It was evident that NO had to account for him every snap.
 
I saw what I hoped to see -- a big fucking guy who was just too damn strong/fast for the OT to handle.
 
Garrett disappeared.. I only heard his name called once.. Wheres is this great pass rusher I keep hearing about?

Hating just to hate.

He played limited snaps. He had 1 tackle and a hit on the QB which was inches from being a sack. He showed that he is going to be a guy that can't be left unchecked.

Just because he didn't get a sack doesn't mean he didn't impact the game. You should also apply your own logic about jumping to conclusions about a player based off one preseason game - despite being wrong about the performance.

Also did you catch the play where he ran 20+ yards downfield to catch the rb that was flying down the sideline on a run to the opposite side? so much for his lack of effort.
 
Garrett also had a 2nd TFL. I forgot about it until watching this video. Skip to 3:02. Doesn't show up on the stat sheet because he and Ogbah split the tackle.

I'm thinking the NFL needs to do away with splitting it. If two guys hit someone for a loss, just give them both a TFL/Sack/Tackle.

I DONT CARE!,,, I want sacks and nothing but..This what we drafted him for.. I am holding him to the highest standard since all of you love swabbing his balls.. Yes.. I want the impossible from him while hes here before he moves on to Dallas... Need I remind you people?..

Garrett played a TOTAL of 15 snaps...out of which only 6 pass plays occurred...and was double teamed on all but a handful of those snaps. He did his job then some.

dude do you realize the best players in the nfl get 1 sack per game thats playing what 50 snaps give or take.

the guy played 15 snaps in a preseason game. nothing to see here let im at least play a full game before you declare him a bust.

that is all move on nothing to see here.

That's a perfect example of what I've been stressing. Both Shelton and Garrett drawing doubles will end in disruption more times than not. We've got to let this play out before we panic.
 
It doesn't matter how much the Trubisky homers hate Garrett. Saying it was a shit performance doesn't change the fact it was an excellent performance.

All our players should be held to the highest standards. That's what I hope for every year when I subscribe to the NFL Ticket. Until the team turns it around, the only balls I swab, are my own ;)
 
Trubisky homers. lol Gross.

Keyed in on our #1. 2 nice plays. Rest of the time handled 1v1. Not sure who the opposing tackle was. Limited action. Far from excellent. Not alarmingly bad either. Surely wasn't the "dominant message sent to the league" he had planned on. Hopefully that happens in game 1 of the regular season.
